LG Reported to Exit CDMA Business in India

The Economic Times of India recently reported that LG Electronics plans to exit the CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) phone business in India and focus on high-end GSM (Global System for Mobile communications) phones instead. An official at LG India added that the move will not be confined to the Indian market but is part of the company's global strategy. Also, LG India plans to boost its GSM production capacity at the Pune plant from two million to ten million units in three to four years.
